I have to hand it to the hunter riders,  they will catch ride a  horse!  All Larry's rides were catch rides.

Which impressed me that they could perform so well on a horse they did not know.

The other thing that impressed me was that it was hot and not a single one of them complained about wearing a jacket.

15May Sunburst Dressage and CT Larry

At the Sunburst Stables Dressage and CT, Team FenRidge put in a good showing, don’t have pictures but we do have video which I put on Youtube(see below). First place winners include: Avant Garde(First level 69.3%), Zima (Intro level 67.5%) and Zana/Max(BN 31.5ppts) . Scnobia/Mia came in a very respectable 2^nd in the Maiden division.

Zima was so CUTE!!! and SUCH a good boy for his first show.

21March, 2009 at Averett University's Dressage and CT show

Way to Go Team FenRidge!!!

Rhiannon and Larry win the First Level Division with a 63.3% (they also win the Training one too).
Scnobia wins both the Intro classes with her new horse Maya.
A spook in dressage and stop keep Zana and Max from the first place spot in the BN CT.
Finally (drum rolls) Patricia and Romke win the Second Level division with a 67.3%!!

20September, 2008 FenRidge Farm dressage show

Rhapsody cut his leg and was a little off the morning of the show so Scnobia tacked up Larry (aka Avant Garde) and with a quick warm up scored a 64%. Then came back and won the Intro B division with a 66%.

August, 2008 starter VAHT

Team FenRidge have a great time and meet up with some FenRidge farm north members(Hannah and Surf). Not only did we have fun but placed well. MaryBeth on her new horse Seiko finished 2nd on her dressage score in the BN. Hannah and Surf did the same in the Novice division. This was Scnobia and Rhapsody's first CT and they scored a 4th. Alison and Colby won their division. Romke jumped the Big Ugly Trakner and place in 1st and 3rd in the training and Prelim CTs.

24March 2008 Sport Horse Versatility (SHV) with Linda Hoover

The clinic was held in Southern Pines and the whole way down I was saying to myself this would be so good for Romke to help him get over his spookiness. He is a very spooky, cautious horse which has cause more that a few stops on XC especially at ditches where he insists on inspecting them before jumping. I was sooo disappointed. Not with Linda or her obstacles which where fantastic but Romke who was ho-hum about the whole thing.

A Very wet day! Zana and Scnobia had a good show not so good for the upper level Team FenRidge folks. Both MaryBeth and Patricia get eliminated in DRESSAGE! MaryBeth because she forgot her test (Training A) and Patricia and Romke were eliminated when Romke decided to jump out of the dressage arena. The nice judge let us finish, the test (Prelim A) was scoring well up until that point. It is funny, Teresa got it on camera the moment it occurred to Romke that it would be fun to just continue cantering down the long side and out of the arena. I swear there is a gleam in his eye!

18 Febuary, PineTop Winter HT II

I thought our dressage was one of the best we have ridden. It did not score that way this time Romke got a 6 on gaits!!(I got a six too). On a good note, by not scoring well in dressage I was less tense for XC and we went clean around Pinetop's rather tough Training course only adding a few time penalties. We did have to jump stadium in the dark. They had so many entries that the Training division did not finish SJ until 6:30pm.

26 January, 2008 Carolina Horse Park Pipe Opener CT

We Won!!! Romke and I earned a 28 (72% for the dressage types) finishing first in the Training level CT division (Training level CT is somewhat like First level dressage). Even more thrilling is we had the lowest final score of everyone all day!! Over 100 rides and lots of Big Name Trainers!

Lots of horse pictures of course (300+) but while the horses were resting in the field we went on a diversification. We call it diversification because riders can get too focus on riding and forget there are other aspects of life. For diversification we went to the Columbia, SC Zoo. Here are a few pictures

August 2007 Red Mountain Hounds ‘C’ Hunter show

Romke and BabyPo went. Romke actually won one of the 3foot rounds! Eventing attire (Full seat breeches, skull cap) and all! Baby Po went in the horse division as we did not have the patients to wait around all day for the pony divisions. She did not place well agaist the horse but she jumped around clean. They called this 2'6" division looked more like 2'3".

09June, 2007 Lumber River - USEA HT

Here is our dressage test, we are finally getting it, we had the lowest score (24ppt which is a 76%) of all the horses for the whole competition. Again we had a bit of trouble on XC but still finished with a 44 which is where I use to be after dressage

They did a fabulous job together! Elena's horse came up lame and she had only 2 rides on him before the HT, they were double clean in XC and SJ.

05May, 2007 BREA - schooling HT

BREA = Blue Ridge Eventing Association. It was a Very nicely run HT and for the $($50 for a HT) you can not beat it, here is a link to the BREA calendar. http://www.blueridgeeventingassociation.org/calendar.htm

Romke - For once we did not just win the warm up we won the dressage phase with a 27.5!! We had a bit of trouble with a Trakner on XC so there went our good ribbon.

We did not come home with a bunch of ribbons but we had a great time. Most of the horses were new to their level. We were all clean in show jumping and did not get wet.
